Iron Loader V2 - Installation and Tuning Instructions

Welcome to the Iron Loader V2 installation guide! This device lets you install custom tunes easily using your smartphone or tablet. It connects via Bluetooth through the PowerGate app, making tuning quick and hassle-free.

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to get started!

Step 1: Preparing Your Device

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  1. A smartphone or tablet running iOS or Android.
  2. A stable Wi-Fi connection for uploading and downloading your tune.
  3. The PowerGate app installed on your device. You can download it from the

App Store or Google Play by clicking the links below:

Step 2: Connecting the Iron Loader V2 to Your Vehicle

  1. Plug the OBD2 cable into the Iron Loader V2 module (insert the serial side into the female serial port on the device)..
  2. Connect the OBD2 end of the cable to your vehicle’s OBD2 port.
  3. Enable Location Services and Bluetooth on your iPhone or Android device to allow connection to the Iron Loader.
  4. Wait for the device to power on—LED lights will turn BLUE when ready.
  5. Open the PowerGate app on your phone.
  6. In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, locate and connect to the Iron Loader.
  7. Connect to WiFi as part of the tuning process.
  8. Once connected, the device will automatically update its software and firmware. Let this update complete before proceeding.

Connection established when updates complete.

Step 3: Reading Stock File

  1. Keep your phone connected to the Iron Loader V2 via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi..
  2. Open the PowerGate app.
  3. Follow the in-app prompts to start a stock file read from your vehicle’s ECU.
  4. Turn the ignition to ON (engine off) before proceeding.
  5. Ensure that virtual reading is selected during the communication phase.
  6. Wait for the app to complete the read process. This may take a few minutes.
  7. Once the reading is complete, the app will prompt you to save the stock file. Follow the instructions on the screen to save it to your phone.

Step 4: Uploading and Downloading the Custom Tune

Now, you’re ready to upload your stock tune and download your custom tune:

  1. After saving the stock file, the PowerGate app will automatically prompt you to upload the stock file to our tuning server.
  2. Ensure you have a stable internet connection for the upload.
  3. Once the upload is complete, the app will notify you when the custom tune is ready for download.
  4. Download the custom tune to your phone via the PowerGate app once it is available.

Your custom tune is now ready to be applied to your vehicle!

Step 5: Writing the New Tune to Your Vehicle

Follow these steps to write the new custom tune to your vehicle:

  1. Reconnect the OBD2 cable to both the Iron Loader V2 and your vehicle’s OBD2 port (same as Step 2).
  2. Confirm the device powers on—the LED should turn blue.
  3. Open the PowerGate app and check that the device is still connected via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  4. If prompted, repeat Step 2: Connecting the Iron Loader V2 to Your Vehicle before proceeding.
  5. Please select the writing button in the app.
  6. Select the downloaded custom tune from the app interface.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to write the new tune to your vehicle’s ECU. Keep the vehicle's ignition in the "ON" position (engine off) throughout the process.
  8. Do not interrupt the process. Wait for the device to indicate that the tune has been successfully written.
  9. Once completed, turn off the ignition and disconnect the OBD2 cable.
